History Of Salasar Balaji Mandir

Salasar Balaji Mandir is said that a there was a saint whose name is Mohan Das Maharaj . one day he went to his sister’s home for Dinner . And when he was having his dinner at the house of his sister Kanhi Bai. During this time Balaji (Hanuman ji) appeared to him in the guise of a saint. Salasar Balaji Mandir was established about 268 years ago. Sant Mohan Dasji Maharaj had built the temple with the five rupees donated by Balaji. The motive behind building the temple is also related to reverence. The idol of Balaji Maharaj was installed on Shravan Shukla Navami Saturday of Samvat 1811.
Later, Saint Mohan Dasji called artisan named Noor Mohammad and Dau of Fatehpur (Rajasthan) to build the temple. The construction was completed in Samvat 1815. At present the temple complex is spread over a large area and has all the facilities. Salasar Dham has a different identity across the country. Devotees from many states come here to have darshan of the Lord.

Also there is one more story related to Salasar Balaji Mandir is told as dates back to the 18th century. According to legend, there was a farmer who plowing his fields . As plowing he found an idol of Lord Hanuman with beared and moustach . The news of the discovery of Hanuman ji’s idol spread quickly, and a devotee named Bhai Roopchand took the initiative to build a temple at the site. The construction of the temple marked the beginning of Salasar Balaji Mandir’s significance as a sacred and miraculous place.

  • Coconut is specially kept as offering in Salasar Balaji Dham. It is believed that God fulfills the wishes of people by accepting the offering of coconut.
  • Every year around 25 lakh coconuts are offered in the temple.
  • Devotees have been going to a Khejri tree planted in the temple premises with a coconut tied in a red cloth.
  • The special thing is that these coconuts of Belief are not reused here. They are buried by digging a pit in the field.
  • The coconuts are buried in pits in about 250 bigha fields near Murdakiya village, about 11 kilometers away from Salasar Balaji temple.
  • One of the unique aspects of Salasar Balaji is the tradition of tying a sacred thread, known as “safaa,” around the wrists of devotees. It is believed that this thread possesses divine power and provides protection to the wearer.
  • Over the years, Salasar Balaji has gained recognition not only as a religious site but also as a cultural and tourism destination.
